The Hot Toys RoboCain is the villain build of the year — 40 centimetres and over 200 components of diecast cyborg, with the brain of a drug lord and the manners of a wrecking ball.
RoboCop 2 gave its hero a monster worth the sequel, and this Movie Masterpiece Diecast figure treats RoboCain like the engineering project he is. In a RoboCop collection of sixth-scale humans, a machine this size rewrites the shelf.
What the Hot Toys RoboCain actually articulates
More than 100 points of articulation across those 200-plus components, for a start. Two interchangeable head-and-neck modules — one fully articulated, one with light-up function — sit above paired large and small mechanical arms carrying the six-barrelled rotary chain gun, an extendable battering ram, three-clawed hands, pliers and a cutting torch. The waist rotates a full 360 degrees on hydraulic rods with a liftable function, the chest hatch opens to reveal the canister rack from the film’s iconic loading scene, and the detachable shoulder cannon brings its own LED. A remote control accessory and figure stand complete the machine.
Display presence
Diecast weight, gunmetal weathering and a 40cm frame: RoboCain doesn’t share a shelf, he presides over it. Pose a sixth-scale human anywhere near and the scale disparity does the storytelling for you.
