Know your formats — scale first, everything else second

• Sixth scale (1/6) — the biggest bench on this page, led by Hot Toys: ~30cm figures with tailored fabric costumes and film-still likenesses, alongside Sideshow, EXO-6 and Trick or Treat Studios. Roughly £70–£380 depending on studio.
• Art scale & statues — fixed-pose sculpture: Iron Studios 1/10 dioramas around £250–£275, up to Sideshow’s Premium Format tier at £850. No articulation, maximum presence — the piece the rest of the shelf answers to.
• 1:1 prop replicas — full-size and screen-accurate: Tamashii Proplica Nichirin swords at 88cm, die-cast Poké Balls, prop weapons from around £25, and a fully functional wearable Pip-Boy at £250.
• Helmets, masks & wearables — the grail tier: EFX’s Black Chrome Vader helmet and PureArts’ life-size T-800 masks, £680–£850. Museum pieces that happen to fit a human head.

Which franchises? (what’s actually on the shelves here)

The deepest bench is sci-fi & horror — Halloween, Saw, Alien, Predator, Terminator, IT and Beetlejuice, from 1/6 figures to a life-size Billy the Puppet. Around it: Star Wars, Star Trek, The Matrix, Masters of the Universe (two Skeletors and the prop weapons to match), TMNT, Marvel and DC via Hot Toys, and an anime crossover bench — Demon Slayer Proplica swords and Pokémon die-cast replicas. Allocations land, sell through, and get replaced — it’s a rotating wall, not a permanent catalogue.

How to choose — before you commit serious money

• Articulation or sculpt — pick your side. Sixth scale gives you posing, fabric and swappable parts; a statue gives you one perfect frozen moment with paintwork no articulated figure can match. Decide which you’ll still love in five years, not which photo grabbed you today.
• Measure footprint and weight, not just height. A 1/10 diorama base eats a dinner plate of shelf; a Premium Format piece is furniture; a life-size helmet wants a stand and a dust plan. Dimensions are on every product page — check them against the actual space.
• Set the budget by the job. £25–£165 buys real props — replica weapons and Proplica swords that display like pieces three times the price. £250–£400 is the sixth-scale and art-scale anchor zone. £470+ is grail territory: life-size puppets, plasmacasters, helmets and masks.
• Pre-order is the format here. Studio pieces are made in one allocation-based run — when it sells through, the aftermarket is the only market. Everything on this page reserves for £0, so claiming your piece early costs nothing.

The recast problem (read this before buying anywhere)

High-end statues and replicas get recast: moulds pulled from genuine pieces, run off in cheaper resin with softer detail and paint that misses by a shade — sold with photos of the real thing. At this price tier a bad buy really hurts, and the tells are consistent: a price well under RRP, stock of a long-sold-out edition, no traceable supply chain. The fix is boring but total: buy from UK authorised distribution. Everything here comes through the official channel, so authenticity is guaranteed by where it’s sourced — not by opening the box.
