- Born from a Troma cult classic. The Toxic Crusaders spun out of Troma's outrageous 1984 splatter-comedy The Toxic Avenger.
- An R-rated movie became a kids' cartoon. In 1991 the very adult Toxic Avenger was reinvented as a Saturday-morning animated series — one of the unlikeliest glow-ups in pop culture.
- Toxie is New Jersey's first superhero. The mop-wielding, lumpy-headed hero has proudly repped the Garden State since day one.
- The toys are a 90s revival. Trick or Treat Studios brought the line back with Varner Studios, who designed the original 90s figures — retro-accurate, slime included.
