Sci-Fi & Horror, Collected Properly

Masks, figures, statues and screen-accurate props — how to build a genre shelf that actually unsettles people.

This is the genre wall: everything on this page is currently a pre-order — that’s how licensed horror and sci-fi runs work — and the range goes from a £25 Necronomicon fridge magnet to an £850 life-size T-800. Every piece comes through authorised UK distribution and gets hand-checked for condition when it lands in Bristol. Here’s the lay of the land.

Know your formats — four ways into the genre

  • Masks — Trick or Treat Studios’ licensed latex, £28–£87: Michael Myers in three screen versions, Leatherface, Billy from Saw, Art the Clown. Hand-cast, hand-painted, and the cheapest way to own something genuinely screen-accurate.
  • Figures — from 13cm Toxic Crusaders at £25 up to a 30cm Michael Myers 1/6 at £150, with Pennywise and Billy-on-his-tricycle in between. Shelf presence without centrepiece money.
  • Premium sixth scale & statues£225–£850: Hot Toys Neo and the Alien Big Chap, EXO-6’s Captain Kirk, Sideshow’s Beetlejuice pieces, and a light-up Ghostbusters Terror Dog breaking through the wall.
  • 1:1 props & replicas — the conversation-stoppers: a 91cm barbwire bat at £25, a life-size Billy the Puppet, the Predator 2 Plasmacaster, PureArts’ T-800 masks and a Black Chrome Vader helmet at the top of the range.

Which franchises? (what’s actually on the shelves here)

The deepest thread is Halloween — three Myers masks and a 1/6 figure — and the most complete character is Billy from Saw, on this page at three scales: mask, 1/6 figure, life-size puppet. Around them: Terminator, Terrifier, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, IT, House of 1000 Corpses, Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead and Toxic Crusaders on the horror side; Alien, Predator, Star Trek, The Matrix, Star Wars and Fallout on the sci-fi side — plus a music-horror crossover lane with Iron Maiden’s Eddie and Ghost’s Papa Emeritus. Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice round it out. Allocations rotate, so the wall changes — that’s the point.

How to choose — first scare or fiftieth

  • Start under £60 if you’re new. A licensed mask or a small figure is real screen-accurate product, not a compromise — and the shelf oddities (a Necronomicon magnet, an Eddie candy pail) are the cheapest personality a collection can buy.
  • Same character, three scales — pick by the room. Billy exists here as a £50 mask, a £70 figure and a £470 life-size puppet. The question isn’t which is best; it’s how much of your living space you’re prepared to concede to a puppet.
  • Set the budget by the job. £25–£90 covers masks, figures and props with real display value. £150–£350 is anchor territory — premium sixth scale and statues. £470+ is the grail tier, where pieces become furniture.
  • Pre-order is how this genre works. Licensed horror runs are allocation-based and sell through — especially masks around October. Reserving costs £0 here, so claim the piece when you see it, not when you’ve saved for it.

The knock-off problem (the genre’s oldest jump scare)

Horror is the most knocked-off genre in collecting: costume-shop copies of licensed masks, recast props, marketplace figures with paint that misses by a mile. The tells are the usual — a price well under RRP, stock of long-retired pieces, sellers with no traceable supply chain. The fix is boring but total: buy from UK authorised distribution. Everything here comes through the official channel, so authenticity is guaranteed by where it’s sourced — not by opening the box. Every piece is still hand-checked for condition on arrival, sealed and untouched. That’s why “hand-inspected” is a process here, not a slogan.

Why buy your horror from AkiraCircuit?

  • Pre-orders cost £0 up front. Pay on Fulfilment: reserve now, pay only when your piece is confirmed and ready to ship. No deposits, whether it’s a £25 magnet or an £850 helmet.
  • Pre-orders ship free. In-stock delivery is a flat £2, and everything ships free over £100 (UK).
  • 14-day free UK returns. Change your mind, send it back — return postage is on us.
  • Signal rewards on every order — and 1.5× points on pre-orders, because reserving early should count for something.
  • Collectors first, retailers second. Packed and dispatched from Bristol by people who know why the Kirk mask matters.

Quick answers

Are these pieces officially licensed?

Yes — everything we sell is officially licensed and sourced through authorised UK distribution. No grey imports, no marketplace stock, no exceptions. The full picture is on our sourcing page.

How do pre-orders actually work?

You reserve for £0 today. Each product page shows the expected arrival month; when your piece lands and passes inspection, we take payment and ship it — free. If the studio moves the date, the page moves with it. The fine print is on our pre-order policy page, and everything reservable is in The Queue.

Are the masks wearable or display-only?

Both — they’re hand-cast latex made to be worn, and most collectors display them anyway. Fit and sizing notes are on each product page, and there’s a full mask-buying guide on our Masks page.

What if it arrives damaged?

Get in touch and we’ll sort it — that’s on us, not you. And with 14-day free UK returns, a piece that isn’t what you hoped for can simply go back — details on the returns policy page.
