The Maximum Series Symbiote Spider-Man catches the black suit at the moment it stops being a costume. Hasbro’s deluxe Marvel Legends tier goes back to Secret Wars #8 — the machine on Battleworld, the glob of black that repairs itself, and the slow realisation that it is not just cloth.
What the Maximum Series Symbiote Spider-Man comes with
Seventeen accessories, which is the whole point of the Maximum tier over a standard Legends release: eight interchangeable hands covering thwip, wall-crawl and web-grip poses, two heads — the mask and an unmasked Peter Parker — a Spidey-sense burst effect, web lines, the backpack, and the container with the symbiote still sealed inside it. Articulation runs past twenty points through the head, arms and legs, so the crouches and mid-swing poses the character is drawn in actually hold.
On the shelf
At 15cm he stands level with the rest of the 6-inch Marvel line, and the flat black deco under the white spider is about as readable as a silhouette gets across a full shelf.
